CONTRACT INTERPRETATION MANUAL HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

The long-awaited Contract Interpretation Manual, which includes interpretations of the entire 2000 National Agreement that have been jointly prepared by the NPMHU and the Postal Service, has been mailed to all Local Union officers and stewards, and should be received in the next few days. Also being distributed to all Local Union officers (i.e., Local Executive Board members and Branch Presidents), in a separate mailing, is a CIM Resource Guide, which contains a copy of every national-level arbitration award, memorandum of understanding, and Step 4 or prearbitration agreement that is cited in the CIM. Both documents also will be accessible on the NPMHU website. Joint labor-management training on the CIM is being held around the country, with the first session scheduled for July 14-15 in Philadelphia, PA.
