NATIONAL POSTAL MAIL HANDLERS UNION
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS OF NPMHU UNION 311
NOTICE OF A RERUN ELECTION

This notice is to advise all members in good standing that the Judges of Elections will be conducting a rerun election. On June 28. 2002, the Judges of Local 311 received a notice from the National Headquarters. In this notice, President William H. Quinn stated that the election for the State Executive Board Member was extremely close. A candidate for this office filed protest. President Quinn stated that with the margin of victory for the winning candidate being only three (3) votes, in these circumstances, Local 311 therefore is ordered to rerun the election for the State Executive Board Member only.

All nominees from the previous election shall remain on the ballot and no new nominations shall be allowed. No nominee will be allowed to withdraw from the ballot. The current Slate Executive Board Member shall remain in office until the results of the rerun election are certified and the newly elected officer is sworn in.

All rules and regulations of the National and Local Constitution apply for this rerun election except for those mentioned in the above paragraph. Candidates are allowed an observer from the membership of their Branch. This must be done in writing to the Judges of Election, just as in the past election.

Ballots will be mailed to the membership to all members in good standing on September 7, 2002. The ballots must be returned to the Judges of election no later than 9:00 a.m. on October 4, 2002, at the Beverly Hills Post Office. The ballots will be tallied and certified at the Local 311 Union Headquarters, Dallas, Texas.
