NPMHU 2004 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

Three recipients from Local 311 were awarded the NPMHU 2004 Scholarship. Michelle De-Nae Felder, daughter of Michael Felder; Precious Carr, daughter of Iwanda Thomas; and Rudy Richard Fernandez Jr., son of Rudy Fernandez were awarded a scholarship in the annual amount of at least $1,000. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years or until completion of the degree whichever occurs first for a maximum of $4,000 per recipient.

The NPMHU Scholarship program awarded 30 scholarships this year, six (6) per region. This program, which is in its fourth year, is providing $1,000 scholarships payments for continuing students who were initially awarded scholarships in 2001 thru 2003. Sixty-eight scholarships were awarded in 2001. Forty-three scholarships were awarded in 2002. And, 35 scholarships were awarded in 2003. Additional or larger scholarships may be awarded each year depending upon the number of applicants and the number of renewals each year.
